Business Advice, Coaching, Training and Project Management
Business Builder was established by Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce in 2005 as a business advice, coaching, and training company.
Since its creation, Business Builder has evolved and has recently become project manager for several local initiatives:
Business Builder, the commercial arm of Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce, has developed an exciting and unique joint venture with colleagues at De Montfort University (DMU) Business and Law Faculty to provide an innovative new business support service to help companies in the city and county reach their full potential.
The service, designed to assist local companies in gaining a competitive advantage through innovation and enterprise, is geared towards providing user-friendly face-to-face support to meet the needs of the local business community.
To help Leicester and Leicestershire businesses identify opportunities for growth the support service offers a free initial business review meeting; this meeting acts as a starting point, enabling companies to access the many areas of advice, resources, workshops, events and courses available to them.

Some of our Projects include:
Young Chamber
Young Chamber is an initiative to bridge the gap between businesses and their future workforce – school students. Participating students have the opportunity to work on:
- Enterprising projects
- Start up and operate small businesses
- Attend business events and workshops
- Organise meetings and conferences
This gives students a genuine opportunity to demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills and potentially support real businesses by working on solving real business issues and challenges.
We have successfully established Young Chambers within The City of Leicester College, Casterton Business and Enterprise College, Lutterworth College and Rushey Mead School.
The Young Chamber does need support from local businesses to help with forging links between the business sector and our local schools and college. More information is available on this wonderful opportunity to use your business skills to help.

FREE Problem solving help from University Students
Would your business like some free problem solving help from university students?
Business Builder is working on a project with some very talented math’s and physics university students. They would like the opportunity to work with 3 Leicestershire businesses that are currently facing a business problem and could benefit from some outside help to solve it.
This might include developing a database, developing some software, analysing information, financial systems, mapping programmes, probabilities or logistics.
This is a great opportunity for a business to take advantage of some young innovative talent. Please contact us for further details at jackiel@bizbuild.co.uk or Tel 0116 2587354.
The Local Better Regulation Office
(a non-governmental department established to reduce regulatory burdens on business) is working in partnership with Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership to explore the potential of developing a new relationship between local businesses and regulatory services such as Environmental Health, Trading Standards, the Fire Service and HMRC.
Businesses regularly cite regulation as being a barrier to growth and the aim of the project is to provide a joint offer of support from regulatory services to enable business to overcome both the real and perceived regulatory barriers. The content of this offer will be developed by both local businesses and regulatory services.
Business Builder is supporting this project by hosting the project officer and providing the links to the local business community. Addressing regulation as a barrier to growth is considered a key role of Local Enterprise Partnerships. Leicester and Leicestershire are leading the way in this work and Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce has been recognised as a key partner.

Growth Loan Fund
The Growth Loan Fund was set up by Business Builder to financially assist small new start-up businesses and those up to 3 years old based within the Leicestershire county boundary.
The loan is aimed at businesses where insufficient personal capital or additional security is available to offer the lender access to funds through normal commercial channels.
We are always interested to hear from innovative and niche businesses. Not only can we offer funding but also professional business advice to develop, grow and sustain the business.
